Role Summary

The Production Manager at DWL is responsible for overseeing the full production process of DWL garments, from confirmed orders to final delivery. This role ensures that every outfit produced meets DWL’s standard of fit, structure, finishing, quality, and luxury presentation. The Production Manager will manage day-to-day production activities, supervise the production team, coordinate timelines, oversee fittings and quality control, and ensure that all garments are completed to the required standard and within agreed timelines. This role also includes procurement, sourcing, and vendor management for fabrics, accessories, trims, and other materials required for the production process. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in fashion production, tailoring coordination, fabric sourcing, vendor management, quality control, and production planning. They must be organized, firm, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage people, materials, and deadlines without compromising the DWL standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES —

  • Production Planning & Coordination

    •  Manage the full production process for ready-to-wear, made-to-measure, and bespoke orders.
    •  Create and manage weekly production schedules based on confirmed client orders.
    •  Allocate work to tailors, machinists, cutters, finishers, and other production team members.
    •  Track each garment from cutting to sewing, fitting, finishing, quality control, packaging, and
    • delivery.
    •  Ensure production timelines are followed and delays are flagged early.
    •  Coordinate with the Creative Director on special designs, custom requests, fabric combinations,
    • and finishing expectations.

    Procurement, Sourcing & Vendor Management

    •  Source fabrics, linings, buttons, zippers, trims, shoulder pads, labels, packaging items, and other
    • production accessories.
    •  Manage relationships with fabric suppliers, accessory vendors, and other production-related
    • service providers.
    •  Compare prices, quality, timelines, and reliability across vendors.
    •  Ensure materials are purchased on time and within approved budgets.
    •  Track vendor performance and escalate recurring issues.
    • Maintain an updated list of trusted suppliers and alternative sourcing options.
    •  Ensure that all purchased materials align with DWL’s design direction and quality expectations.

    Quality Control

    •  Inspect garments at each major stage of production.
    •  Check garment structure, fit, seams, finishing, lining, buttons, pockets, lapels, sleeve pitch,
    • trouser finishing, hems, and pressing.
    •  Ensure all garments are properly finished before client fittings or delivery.
    •  Identify production errors early and ensure corrections are completed properly.
    •  Maintain a final quality control checklist before any item leaves production.

    Team Management

    •  Supervise tailors, machinists, cutters, finishers, pressing staff, and other production support
    • staff.
    •  Monitor daily output and ensure each team member is meeting expectations.
    •  Provide clear production instructions based on client orders and design requirements.
    •  Resolve production issues quickly and professionally.
    •  Maintain discipline, accountability, and excellence within the production team.

    Order & Measurement Management

    •  Review client measurements and order details before production begins.
    •  Clarify unclear measurements, style selections, fabric choices, and fit requirements.
    •  Ensure every order is properly tagged, documented, and tracked.
    •  Work closely with customer service to confirm client preferences, timelines, fitting dates, and delivery updates.

    Inventory & Materials Management

    •  Track fabric and trim usage for each order.
    •  Monitor stock levels of key production materials.
    •  Report low stock or missing materials in advance.
    •  Ensure all materials needed for production are available before garments enter the production
    • schedule.
    • Reduce waste by managing fabric usage efficiently.

    Reporting & Documentation

    •  Maintain the Master Order Dashboard or production tracker.
    •  Submit daily and weekly production updates.
    •  Report completed garments, pending garments, delayed orders, and production challenges.
    •  Track tailor output and production payments where applicable.
    •  Document recurring production issues and suggest process improvements

REQUIREMENTS —

  • Proven experience in fashion production, tailoring, garment construction, or atelier management.
  • Strong knowledge of women’s tailoring, especially jackets, trousers, skirts, dresses, waistcoats, and structured garments.
  • Experience with procurement, sourcing, vendor management, and production materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret measurements, design notes, and client briefs.
  • Excellent understanding of garment finishing and quality control.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple client orders at once.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
  • Must be firm, proactive, and solution-oriented.
  • Must be based in Lagos and available to work in person in Lekki.

Preferred Skills —

  • Experience working with structured tailoring or women’s suiting.

  • Knowledge of fabrics such as wool blends, linen, damask, Aso-oke, Adire, and other specialty textiles.

  • Strong supplier and market knowledge within Lagos.

  • Experience using Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion, or production tracking tools.

  • Ability to manage fittings and communicate corrections clearly to tailors.

  • Strong negotiation and vendor coordination skills.

Salary range: ₦200,000 monthly
