ROLE SUMMARY —
Our client is seeking to hire a Quality Control Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring that all garments and fashion products meet the company’s quality standards, design specifications, and customer expectations. The role focuses on maintaining quality throughout the production process by inspecting products at every stage, identifying defects, enforcing quality standards, and ensuring only products that meet the required standard are approved for delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES —
Conduct quality inspections at various stages of garment production, from sample development to final finishing.
Inspect fabrics, trims, stitching, measurements, construction, finishing, and overall garment presentation.
Ensure finished products comply with approved specifications, size charts, design requirements, and quality standards.
Identify defects such as poor stitching, fabric flaws, incorrect measurements, colour inconsistencies, finishing issues, and workmanship defects.
Collaborate closely with pattern makers, tailors, production teams, and finishing personnel to maintain consistent quality standards.
Perform routine quality inspections at production facilities and vendor locations where applicable.
Monitor production processes to ensure quality checks are consistently carried out throughout the production cycle.
Provide timely feedback and recommend corrective actions to address quality issues before products reach final inspection.
Maintain accurate quality inspection reports and documentation of defects, corrective actions, and recurring production issues.
Escalate critical quality concerns that could impact customer satisfaction or brand reputation.
Recommend improvements to garment construction, production processes, and quality control procedures to reduce defects and improve efficiency.
Work closely with the Production Coordinator/Production Manager to ensure production deadlines are achieved without compromising product quality.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance product quality, consistency, and production efficiency.
Train and guide production teams on quality expectations, workmanship standards, and best practices.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS —
A degree in Fashion Design, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in quality control within the fashion, garment manufacturing, apparel, or textile industry.
Strong understanding of garment construction, sewing techniques, fabric types, measurements, finishing, and apparel quality standards.
Experience conducting in-line and final garment inspections.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and maintain high-quality standards.
Strong problem-solving and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while consistently delivering high-quality results.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with production teams.
Salary range: ₦300,000 – ₦500,000 (negotiable based on experience).
