Pattern Maker
Reporting to Creative Lead / Production Manager
Employment Full-time / Contract (open to both)
Location Lagos Mainland (on-site)
Salary Range ₦180,000 – ₦250,000 / month or per-pattern rate
The Pattern Maker will work closely with the Creative Lead and Production Manager to translate design concepts into precise, production-ready patterns that tailors can execute consistently at scale. This is a specialist role requiring exceptional technical skill, a deep understanding of garment engineering, and experience grading across multiple sizes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES —
— Develop precise patterns from design sketches, technical briefs, and measurements provided by the Creative Lead
— Grade patterns across sizes S, M, and L to ensure consistent fit and proportion at scale
— Create and maintain a clean, well-labelled pattern library for ongoing production use
— Produce toiles and samples to test fit and construction before full production runs
— Liaise with the Production Manager and tailors to walk through pattern instructions and resolve construction queries
— Refine patterns based on fitting feedback and quality control reports
— Ensure all patterns meet the construction and quality standards of Omadili RTW
— Support the scaling of the 450-unit production plan across the 3 core designs
REQUIREMENTS —
— Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in professional pattern making, preferably for women’s wear
— Proven ability to draft, grade, and refine patterns for ready-to-wear production
— Strong knowledge of garment construction
— structured pieces, draping, and tailored silhouettes
— Experience producing patterns for corporate women’s attire (blazers, tailored trousers, dresses) is essential
— High accuracy and attention to detail
— errors at pattern stage multiply across production
— Ability to communicate clearly with both the Creative Lead and production tailors
— Knowledge of both manual pattern drafting and digital pattern tools is an advantage
— Portfolio of past patterns and production work required
Salary range: ₦180,000 – ₦250,000 / month
Full-time rate. Per-pattern contract rates available for freelance engagement. Benchmarked to skill level and complexity of work.
