FASHION STYLIST

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet with clients to understand their style preferences, needs, and objectives. Discuss wardrobe goals, occasions, and budget constraints.
• Source clothing, accessories, and footwear from various designers, boutiques, or stores based on the client’s requirements and preferences. This involves staying updated on current fashion trends and understanding the client’s body type and color preferences.
• Creatively assemble outfits by mixing and matching different clothing items, accessories, and hairstyles. Pay attention to details such as color coordination, fabric textures, and overall aesthetics.
• Ensure that garments fit the client perfectly by arranging fittings and collaborating with tailors or seamstresses for alterations if necessary.
• Collaborate with photographers, models, makeup artists, and hair stylists to create cohesive looks for editorial shoots, fashion shows, red carpet events, or personal photo sessions.
• Work with celebrities, public figures, or influencers to style them for public appearances, performances, or promotional events. This may involve managing wardrobe changes and ensuring that the client’s image aligns with their brand or image.
• Collaborate with fashion editors, photographers, and art directors to style models for magazine spreads, advertisements, or fashion campaigns. This requires a keen understanding of the publication’s aesthetic and target audience.
• Offer personalized shopping services where the stylist accompanies clients to select clothing and accessories that complement their style and meet their wardrobe needs.
• Stay informed about emerging fashion trends, industry developments, and cultural influences. Use this knowledge to advise clients on current fashion directions and help them achieve a modern and fashionable look.
• Build strong relationships with designers, retailers, fashion brands, and industry professionals to access exclusive products, discounts, and opportunities for collaboration.
• Document and showcase your work through a professional portfolio consisting of styled photoshoots, client testimonials, and media coverage to attract new clients and opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, or a related field.
• 2 years experience required
• A strong understanding of fashion trends, designers, brands and styles is essential
•  Excellent communication skills are necessary for effectively understanding and interpreting client preferences. 
•  Creativity and ability to conceptualize and execute unique and visually appealing looks
•  Attention to detail.
•  Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently especially when working on multiple projects or with tight deadlines.
• Flexibility and Adaptability.
• Proficiency in styling techniques  such as garment steaming, ironing, pinning and fitting is important.
• Understanding budgeting, pricing, contracts and other aspects of the business side of styling.
