Fashion Design Intern – Meloni

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the design team in researching trends, fabrics, colors, and styles relevant to upcoming collections.
• Support the creation of mood boards, sketches, and technical drawings for new designs, under the guidance of senior designers.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for garment designs, silhouettes, and embellishments.
• Assist in sourcing materials, trims, and accessories needed for sample development and production.
• Collaborate with patternmakers and sample makers to translate design concepts into wearable garments, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Attend fittings and assist in garment adjustments, alterations, and modifications as necessary.
• Maintain organized records of design sketches, fabric swatches, and other relevant documentation.
• Assist in preparing presentations, line sheets, and lookbooks for internal reviews and buyer meetings.
• Support the design team in day-to-day tasks such as organizing studio space, managing inventory, and coordinating shipments.
• Stay updated on fashion industry trends, runway shows, and emerging designers to inspire and inform design work.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• Passion for fashion design and a strong interest in pursuing a career in the fashion industry.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and/or other design software is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of garment construction techniques, patternmaking, and sewing skills.
• Strong visual and conceptual skills, with the ability to translate ideas into cohesive designs.
• Detail-oriented with a keen eye for color, proportion, and aesthetic appeal.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and visual, with the ability to articulate design concepts effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, take direction, and incorporate feedback into design work.
• Flexible and adaptable to the fast-paced and dynamic nature of the fashion industry.
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and willingness to take on diverse tasks and responsibilities as needed.
